What does it mean to be resilient? How do you build resilience? Today, Hunter talks to Dr. Gail Gazelle, who is a former hospice physician, a certified mindfulness teacher, a former consultant for the United States Department of Justice, and one of the nation’s preeminent physician burnout coaches. She is also the author of “Everyday Resilience: A Practical Guide to Build Inner Strength and Weather Life’s Challenges. In this episode, Dr. Gazelle defines what resilience really is and how we can cultivate more resilience in our lives.

Takeaways:

  1. Looking to our strengths in past challenges can help us to call upon them in future need.
  2. Often our inner critic is developed from the external voices we’ve heard over the years.
  3. The gift of impermanence is the appreciation for what we have at any given moment.
